          Welcome to Walnut Street Christian School!  My name is Mrs. Kathy Gottschall, and I have been the principal of the school since 1994.  Serving at WSCS has been such a joy to me.  Because of our small class sizes, we have the opportunity to know our students well and to become influential in their lives.  What a gift to be part of these students’ lives. 
          The most important and exciting part of WSCS is the fact that the Lord is in the center of every decision: our hiring, classroom lessons, sports program and much more.  Our ultimate goal is to honor and please the Lord with our efforts. 
          One of our strengths, I believe, is that we see each child as unique.  We celebrate the different temperments, gifts, and abilities and strive to help each student reach their potential.
          My philosophy of discipline is to come from a positive reinforcement.  We reward good behavior with “bonus days” throughout the year, and we counsel our students’ sin issues with Scripture.
          Our school has a happy atmosphere in a safe and secure building!  Please come and visit us sometime.
