HS Discipline
Disciplinary actions will be taken against students who disobey the rules, and the parents of those students will pay for any damages caused to the school property due to the disrespect or misconduct of their child.
Disciplinary Steps:
Discipline is correction and Biblicall based discipline is predicated on life. In Hebrews 12:6 we read, “For who the Lord loveth He chasteneth” (corrects). Our goal for each student is correct behavior. Such disciplinary measures as are considered reasonable by the teacher and administrator will be meted out to any offending students. These are the examples of corrective discipline:
- DR (Discipline Report)
- Counseling
- Extra Work
- Writing Assignments
- Probation
- In-School Suspension
- Detention
- Dismissal from school
Whenever necessary for discipline, a DR slip explainging the offense and the nature of the discipline administered will be sent home with the student. You and your parents must sign it and return it to the school the following morning. If it is not signed and returned, you will not be permitted to return to class until the DR is signed and returned. In the event the DR is lost or the parent has a question concerning the discipline, parents must call the office first thing in the morning.
Cheating:
Anyone who cheats will receive 5 DR’s and a conference with the parents will be held. The second offense will result in a three (3) day in-school suspension and another conference. The third offense will result in a one (1) year expulsion from school. All cheating will result in a zero grade in all work involved.
Stealing:
First offense will be a three (3) day in-school suspension, 5 DRs, and a conference with the parents. The second offense will be expulsion from school for one (1) year. Restitution will be made in all cases of stealing.
Teachers are given the liberty to make and enforce classroom regulations consistent with the general policies of the school, and will administer discipline when necessary.
