DR
What is a DR?
A DR is a Discipline Report. A teacher will give you a discipline report if you break the rules. A student’s DR’s will accumulate for nine weeks. At the end of the ninth week, the slate will be wiped clean.
Discipline Report Examples:
- 1 point DR’s — name calling, tardy/late to class, failure to return materials on time, unprepared for class, chewing gum/candy, dress code violation, book not covered, excessive talking or disturbing class, throwing paper, minor horseplay, note passing, readying or studying a different subject during class, failure to report to assigned location, chapel violation, or excessive sloppiness.
- 5 point DR’s — social misconduct, unexcused absence/skipping, disrespect to fellow student, possession of dangerous items, rowdiness involving injury or property damage, offensive literature/language, direct disobedience, disrespect to faculty/staff, lying, endangering public safety, destruction of school property, fighting, improprer communication, vulgarity (written or verbal), stealing, possession, or cheating.
What is Bonus Day?
A bonus day is a special, fun (reward) day for all students who have less than 5 DRs.
- If you have O DRs in nine weeks, you will enjoy a Bonus Day and a casual day (a dress down day).
- If you have 1-5 DRs in nine weeks, you will enjoy a Bonus Day.
- If you have 6 DRs in nine weeks, you will not be able to participate in Bonus Day.
- If you have 10 DRs in nine weeks, you will have to stay for after-school detention and pay a $2 fine.
- If you have 15 DRs in nine weeks, you will have in-school suspension.
- If you have 20 DRs in nine weeks, you will have one day out-of-school suspension.
- If you have 25 DRs in nine weeks, you will have one day out-of-school suspension and possible expulsion.
Bonus Day Examples:
- Examples of bonus days are movie/popcorn during school hours, free gym time at the YMCA, a special field trip, a free homework pass for the day, etc. Bonus days will be held once a month.
If you follow the rules and obey your teacher, you will be able to look forward to Bonus Day each nine weeks!
