Absences, Dismissals, Tardiness

Absenteeism is a serious problem.  Students who miss classes are put at a great disadvantage over other students.  We want you to be a successful student and it is very important that you come to school unless you are sick.

*It is important that if you have a fever and are not feeling well, you should stay home from school so that you do not make your classmates sick.

  • One of your parents should call the school by 8:30 a.m. on the morning of your absence to tell the secretary that you will not be in school that day.  This is very important and it is for your safety.
  • When you return to school after being sick, be sure to bring in an excuse written by one of your parents.  The excuse should give the reason that you did not come to school.
  • If you are late arriving to school, you must report to the office before going to class.
  • If you need to leave during school for an appointment, your parents need to send in a written excuse stating the time and reason you will leave.  Your parents should stop at the office upon arrival, and the secretary will page your teacher to dismiss you for your appointment.
  • All students should leave or be picked up by 3:30 p.m.
  • Please make sure your child’s first and last name is included on all notes, excuses, etc.

Students should arrive by 8:00 a.m. and dismiss at 3:00 p.m.
