Thank you for your inquiry about Tendercare Pre-school. Walnut Street Christian School was established in 1976. We are proud of the reputation we have earned over the last thirty years. Our goal is to teach truth and righteousness, to help each student experience success in the classroom, and to inspire a love for learning. Walnut Street Christian School offers a safe, Christian environment in which students are able to thrive. WSCS provides the advantage of a godly faculty and staff in an atmosphere that inspires spiritual and academic growth
WSCS offers two pre-school programs.
The Tendercare Scholar Readiness Pre-school is an early introductory, less structured two-day pre-school program for children aged three to five. It is an entry level teaching program which introduces basic concepts.
The Tendercare Scholars’ Pre-school is a more advanced K4, three-day program for students aged three to five who are ready for a more structured learning experience. Tendercare Scholars are either promoted from the Scholar Readiness program or are interviewed or tested before entry into this more advanced Scholar Pre-school.
Both pre-school programs offer the options of a part day or full day program.
The Tendercare Scholar Readiness and the Tendercare Scholar program provide the choice of a full day (8:00A.M.-3:00P.M.) or part day (9:00A.M.-12:00 P.M.) schedule. Both programs offer an enjoyable routine including story time, snack time and Bible stories and are taught in a positive, encouraging and secure environment which fosters a love for learning. Full day students will also have scheduled activities such as lunch, rest time, and a library day, music day, cut & paste day, etc.
We moved to our new campus in Avis in January, 2001. Our new facility offers large classrooms and more room for expansion. God has given us a vision for the future that will allow us to offer more than our current advanced academic program. Our students win state testing awards and score more than 200 points above the national average on their SAT’s and they average two grades ahead of grade level on their national Stanford Achievement Tests. WSCS has gifted teachers with a real mission and purpose in their ministry to our students. Our students are very precious to us and we believe that it is a privilege to help them find success in the classroom and in life.
